Introducing Reds new Executive Chef, Adam Watts. Chef Adam was born and raised in Grand Haven Michigan. He has a passion for cycling, and raced collegiate mountain bikes for Fort Lewis College in Colorado. He also attended Western Michigan University and is currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in Culinary Management.
Chef Adam is married to Sarah, and they have a 2 ½ year old named Opal. They enjoy cycling, eating out and enjoying meals from local chefs, adventure bound road trips and spending time together. Chef Adam also enjoys cooking out of his personal garden.
Chef Adam met Chef Instructor Angus Campbel while he was teaching a home economics class at Western. He invited Chef Adam to come visit the college and Adam fell in love with the facility and their culinary program. Chef Adam also learned from many Italian chefs at Tre Cugini while he attended culinary school, as well as Chef Werner Absenger from Cygnus at the Amway Grand Hotel.
He did his internships at Rhubarb in Scotland and in Northern Michigan. From there Adam worked at a variety of restaurants in Colorado and opened Grand Rapids Brewing Company in the winter of 2012. Most recently he worked for Barfly Ventures helping to expand their growing craft beer bar Hopcat into new Midwest markets.
